No teams have appeared to be interested in Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson on the trade front. And San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch discussed that in his pre-draft presser.

As we sit here the day before the 2023 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens are still dealing with the Lamar Jackson imbroglio. They also appear no closer to signing him to a long-term deal than they were at the end of last season.

Jackson appears still unwilling to sign his non-exclusive franchise tag of a guaranteed $32.41 million for next season.

That puts the Ravens in a weird place come Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They don't even know if they have a starting quarterback for next season and if they should address that need in the draft.

No teams have appeared to be interested in Lamar on the trade front either. And San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch discussed that in his pre-draft presser. Did the 49ers consider a trade for Jackson?

“You look into everything, and we seem to be linked to everything,” Lynch replied. “I can tell you, I think it’s how convicted we are on Brock, on this current group of guys. You’re not doing your job if you don’t look into things. A lot of those things I think you’re limited by the way our roster is set up and the other thing is, what’s your motivation?

"And there’s more than just Lamar, there’s tremendous players, MVP type players. We really like our guys and we like where we’re at. We like our complete roster and how they fit for multiple reasons and we’re excited about that group. So, I’ll just leave it at that.”

It's no wonder the 49ers are gun-shy about pulling off a trade for another quarterback. They invested heavily in a guy they may no longer believe in, Trey Lance. They gave up three first-round picks and a third-rounder to get Lance to San Francisco, and it appears it may all be for naught.

Last year's "Mr. Irrelevant," Brock Purdy appears to have all the confidence of the club and is the presumed starter when his elbow heals.

To complicate a proposed trade with Baltimore, the 49ers don't really have the draft capital to use after giving up so much for Lance.

Either way, Jackson is still a Raven ... for now.
