Baltimore Ravens 'Scared' of Deshaun Watson? 'They Gave Him That Money for A Reason!'
It's a centerpiece event in what Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh calls "the best division in the NFL'' as the Cleveland Browns try to hold up their end in Sunday's Week 10 matchup in the AFC North.
And while the Ravens have no reason to be "scared'' of the threat - Baltimore is favored by six points and previously beat the Browns 28-3 earlier this season - there is this time around a different level of "respect'' for how Cleveland might present itself.
“Obviously, it’s Deshaun Watson,” Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen said. “They gave him all that money for a reason.''
By most any measure, Watson has been a disappointment for the Browns and has yet to live up to that fully guaranteed $260 million contract given him in the 2022 offseason as part of a blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans.
In addition to all of Watson's legal entanglements, there have been injury issues. And all told, this season he has thrown for 902 yards and six touchdowns with three interceptions as the Browns have somehow managed to stay afloat with a record of 5-3.
That's been largely due to the playmaking Cleveland defense, which has its concerns here with Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, a leading MVP candidate with Baltimore off to a 7-2 start.
OBJ 'Animosity' in Ravens vs. Browns Reunion?
But Queen and Roquan Smith head up a Ravens defense that is the NFL's second-best defense in terms of total yards and passing yards allowed ... so there is respect for Watson - but there also might be solutions.
He’s a great player,'' Smith said. "But at the end of the day he’s coming into our stadium, with our team, with our defense, with our fans, so that place is going to be rocking.''
