The Lamar Jackson saga continued on Monday as the kind-of-free-agent-but-not-really quarterback took to Twitter to confess he indeed did ask the Ravens to trade him back on March 2.

And now that it's out there, will teams be lining up to throw draft picks at the Ravens? Probably not. But the Ravens still need a quarterback headed into 2023, and with Jackson's future in Baltimore uncertain, they apparently looked at former Browns, Panthers, and Rams quarterback Baker Mayfield.

JoeBucsFan.com reports that the Ravens made an offer to the new Buccaneers quarterback and that Mayfield declined.

It's unclear what role Mayfield would've played with the Ravens but it's likely he would've at least battled for the starting job.

Jackson's football future remains up in the air as no offers have come after the Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on him earlier this month. He has yet to sign the tag offer of a guaranteed $32.41 million and is currently representing himself and has no agent.

In a "goodbye letter" to the city of Baltimore and the Ravens fanbase issued on Twitter on March 27, Jackson said, "I want to first thank you all for all of the love and support you consistently show towards me. All of you are amazing and I appreciate y’all so much. I want you all to know not to believe everything you read about me."

The Jackson saga continues...
