NFL Mock Draft: Ravens Trade Lamar Jackson, Draft Replacement

The Baltimore Ravens may have a tough decision to make if they cannot agree on an extension with quarterback Lamar Jackson.
In this story:

The Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson are reportedly $100 million apart in the negotiations to keep the franchise signal-caller in Baltimore. With that fact in mind, and the NFL Draft looming, many wonder what the Ravens will do with their quarterback.

Franchise tagging Jackson seems like the most likely outcome so far, as it would give the parties more time to iron out a potential extension, but it could also be paired with a trade.

In a recent mock draft from CBS Sports, the latter seems to be the move, as they have projected trade with the Atlanta Falcons. In the mock trade, the Ravens would send Jackson to Atlanta in exchange for the No. 8 overall pick, along with the first and second-round picks from 2024 and a second and fourth-round pick in 2025.

As Jackson would head south, the Ravens would use that newly-acquired No. 8 pick to select Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Taking Stroud would give new offensive coordinator Todd Monken a more traditional pocket quarterback. The former Buckeye finished his college career with an impressive junior season, throwing for 3,688 yards and 41 touchdowns with just six interceptions.

Trading Jackson is a move that many would describe as bold, but the return on investment they would get back make it seems worth it if the Ravens could get the most out of Stroud.
