'I Get To Do My Thing!' Ravens RB Melvin Gordon Happy In Baltimore
NFL running back Melvin Gordon signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens back in late July after spending the last three seasons with the Denver Broncos.
The signing of Gordon seemed necessary after Ravens' regular ball carrier J.K. Dobbins was going to begin camp on the PUP list, and Baltimore desperately needed to add some depth at the position entering camp.
And now, coach John Harbaugh recently stated he's "really happy" Gordon is a member of the Ravens, and Gordon hopes that feeling doesn't change.
Gordon said that he was “in a bad situation” with the Broncos last year and that “there’s nothing better than being in the locker room with people and an organization that wants you to be there” now that he's in Baltimore. Gordon still wants to show “that I still got it” in order to maintain his good standing.
“Being the new guy, you have to take each and every opportunity for what it’s worth and make the best of it,” Gordon said, via the team’s website. “When I get the ball in my hands and I get to do my thing, I’ve got to show them why I’m still valuable.”
With Dobbins missing camp thus far and no timeline for when that might change, Gordon will get every opportunity to show Baltimore he belongs.
