Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Predicts 'First Of Many' Big Games vs. Ravens' Lamar Jackson
The Ravens and Chiefs have played their way into the AFC title game on Sunday. It'll be a contest between two of the best teams not just in the conference but in the entire NFL ... and two of the best quarterbacks.
It'll pit Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes against Ravens signal-caller Lamar Jackson in the postseason for the first time - and it's just the second time ever the two teams have met in the playoffs (2010).
Mahomes compared the game to a "heavyweight matchup" in boxing during his Wednesday presser and indicated he thinks there will be more.
The Chiefs' signal-caller told the press that he thinks it'll be hard for the Kansas City defense to stop Jackson and the Ravens offense.
“He’s going to be the MVP for a reason,” Mahomes said. “He goes out there, he leads his team, he scores, he runs, he throws. He does whatever it takes to win, and that’s what the greats do.
“I knew we were gonna play in a lot of games like this as our careers have gone on, and I’m sure this will be the first of many,” Mahomes said.
The two quarterbacks entered the league the same season in 2018 and if Jackson wins the 2023 NFL MVP as most are predicting, they'll both be two-time winners of the award.
