WR Room Named Ravens' X-Factor, 'Season May Rest on Them!'

Much has been made of the Baltimore Ravens wide receiver room, but coming into the season, many feel a lot rests on their shoulders.

The Baltimore Ravens' offseason work has been lauded by many as Lamar Jackson re-signed with the franchise, and they added Odell Beckham Jr. and drafted Zay Flowers.

With OBJ and Flowers coming in, the wide receiver room now gives the Ravens one of the most explosive offenses in football...on paper, at least. There have been good signs at OTA's and minicamp, but is too much pressure being placed on a unit that hasn't even played together yet?

ESPN.com lists Baltimore's receiver room, instead of an individual, as the team's X-Factor but also mentions that the Ravens' season could hinge on how much production they get out of them.

"You could make the case for Rashod Bateman, Zay Flowers or Odell Beckham Jr. being in this spot," ESPN writes. "All three present upsides and come with their own risks and unknowns. Baltimore's season may rest on what it gets out of those three wideouts."

When we list the offensive options at the disposal of coordinator Todd Monken, we can see why many are bullish on Baltimore next season.

We have Jackson, Mark Andrews, Flowers, Beckham Jr., Rashod Bateman, Devin Duverney, Nelson Agholor, and then running backs in Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins (if his contract situation gets sorted), and Justice Hill.

But as ESPN notes, all receivers listed come with their own pitfalls as injuries have followed Bateman (foot injury) and Beckham Jr. ( ACL), while Flowers is unknown at the NFL level.

So there are plenty of question marks surrounding Jackson's receiving room, but the upside is enormous, and if everything clicks and the unit can remain healthy for 17 games, then the Ravens, by season's end, could have a top-five offense in the NFL.

And in doing so, they would entrench themselves firmly in the Super Bowl conversation.
