What is 'Best-Case Scenario' For Ravens Rookie Zay Flowers?

Baltimore Ravens rookie receiver Zay Flowers has turned heads this offseason, and NFL.com's Chad Reuter thinks that big things are coming his way.
In this story:

We are at the point during the preseason where every player looks like a Pro Bowler, but in Zay Flowers' case, the Baltimore Ravens rookie has already made his case.

His lightning-quick feet and clean, crisp route running have seen plaudits being hurled his way ... but now there's more.

NFL.com listed the best and worst-case scenarios for some offensive rookies, and when it comes to Flowers, Reuter thinks he could be in for great things in Year 1.

"Lamar Jackson makes Flowers one of his top targets in the passing game," NFL.com wrote. "The presence of Odell Beckham Jr. and Rashod Bateman has safeties playing deep to prevent the big play, freeing up the rookie to do damage after the catch."

Given the Ravens' embarrassment of riches at the receiver position, it is highly feasible that with other stars in Odell Beckham Jr., Rashod Bateman, and Mark Andrews, Flowers could get some favorable looks from defenses.

But Reuter's projected stats for Flowers raise the collective eyebrow of Ravens fans everywhere. Reuter predicts that the former Boston College standout will total 1,050 receiving yards and eight touchdowns from 85 receptions.

Comparing that to last season's Offensive Rookie of the Year winner Garrett Wilson (1,103 yards, four touchdowns on 83 receptions), Flowers is set to have himself quite the season.

Wilson tore apart NFL defenses last year, and it looks like many have Flowers replicating that. The only thing that could hold Flowers back is there are a lot of mouths to feed in Baltimore.

Beckham Jr., Andrews, Bateman, Isaiah Likely, Nelson Agholor, and Devin Duvernay all see themselves as key parts of Todd Monken's offense.

While Reuter's projected stats for Flowers might seem out of reach right now, if there is going to be one rookie receiver who can get close to Wilson's efforts last season, then it could be Flowers.

In an offense that has weapons everywhere and is making a concerted effort to air the ball out, Flowers might just set the league alight and maybe usurp the current Offensive Rookie of the Year in the process.
