Zay Flowers' Work Ethic 'Really Impressive!' - Ravens Coach

Zay Flowers has been turning heads ever since he stepped foot onto the practice field, and for Baltimore Ravens assistant wide receiver coach Keith Williams, Flowers is as good as advertised.
In this story:

The Baltimore Ravens knew what kind of player they were getting when they drafted Zay Flowers out of Boston College in the first round of the draft. The electric speed, crisp route running, and his ability to make consistent catches were all features.

But doing it in college compared to the NFL is a different story. Going against the Ravens' stout defense that was ranked third in points against last season at 18.5 per game could be seen as a tough assignment for the rookie.

However, for assistant wide receiver coach Keith Williams, Flowers has been as good as advertised.

“What we saw in him in the draft process, he’s shown it and then some,” Williams said. “The one thing about him is that he is a hard worker, aside from the traits and the speed, all the characteristics, his skill set is obviously there, but the thing that I was impressed by is that he’s a worker.

"He’s very smart, and he wants to get better every day. He’s hungry to be the kind of player that we all think he can be. He brings that attitude to work every day. That part's been really impressive."

With Todd Monken's new offensive scheme angled towards being a more pass-oriented scheme, Flowers will see his fair share of targets from Lamar Jackson.

But Flowers isn't the only stud at the receiver position in Baltimore ... there's also Odell Beckham Jr.

Coming back from his ACL injury, Odell has been hitting all the right notes so far in training camp as he looks to get back to being the dynamic receiver that surpassed 1,000+ yards in five of his first six NFL seasons.

So what are Williams' thoughts on working with such a talented receiver this offseason?

“It's been awesome, he’s been great,” Williams said. “He’s a hard worker, he wants to still improve, he knows that he can get better, and he works at that every day. He’s been great on the field, leadership, he’s been great in the classroom with the young guys, he’s been great everywhere. He’s ready to play and get going.”

The Ravens have a host of weapons at Jackson's disposal, with Flowers and Beckham Jr. leading the way.

Of course, learning Monken's new scheme will take time, but once it clicks, many think the Ravens will have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL.

With Flowers, Beckham Jr., Nelson Agholor, Rashod Bateman, Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely, and Devin Duvernay all ready to explode this season, we have one thought for opposing defenses facing Baltimore this season.

Good luck.
