Lamar Jackson Reveals 'Championship Secret' for Baltimore Ravens
In this story:

It is easier said than done, no doubt. But in the case of the Baltimore Ravens and MVP candidate Lamar Jackson, they are saying it about every week ... and at 7-2, they are accomplishing it most every week.

And what is "it''? A week-in, week-out mindset that Jackson believes has helped the Ravens to establish themselves as one of the NFL's true Super Bowl contenders.

"I believe,'' Jackson revealed regarding a key to Baltimore's success, "us just knowing each and every week it's a championship game to us. That's pretty much what it is. We're treating every game like a championship game, until we're finally there.”

Actually getting "there'' is different-level stuff than, say, playing the Cleveland Browns in Week 10 of the NFL season, as is the next task at hand. But if a team can really approach its work with that mentality?

Maybe what follows is the sort of domination that has occurred in meetings with NFC powerhouses like the Detroit Lions and last week, the Seattle Seahawks.

The Ravens are in first place in the AFC North - the league's toughest division, claims coach John Harbaugh. After the Browns come the Cincinnati Bengals. And eventually?

“I believe our whole team is just locked in,” Jackson said. “Every phase. Special teams, defense, offense, each end every week I believe we've gotten better. There's certain things in the game, when we finish with games, we're hard on ourself about, but at the end of the day we're trying to get wins.''

And trying to treat the approach to seeking those wins as if they are mini-Super Bowls.
