Odell Beckham Jr. BREAKING: Ravens Sign OBJ; Invitation to Lamar Jackson?
The Baltimore Ravens have yet to secured Lamar Jackson's future after they slapped the franchise tag on their quarterback. But on Sunday they secured a deal with Odell Beckham Jr., who on paper could be the most talented wide receiver Jackson's ever thrown to ...
Meaning that maybe OBJ coming to town can bring Lamar home as well.
Recently, Baltimore was a leading team present for Odell Beckham Jr.'s private workout for NFL clubs in Arizona. And then came a visit at the NFL owners meeting, also in Phoenix, where Beckham has a home.
And now, as first reported by NFL Network, OBJ - who was to meet with the New York Jets - is skipping that session to join Baltimore.
Would Beckham Jr. make this move if he didn't believe Jackson would be his teammate? Indeed, would he make this move without having at least visited with the unhappy QB?
Odell, sources have told us, has discussed with teams the idea of signing for $13 million APY. If he's healthy after missing all of last year during knee rehab? That sort of number can be a bargain, even with the controversy and baggage that he can bring.
The need for another weapon has been high on the Ravens' wish list, as looking at the offensive output from last year, it was mostly tight end Mark Andrews or bust.
The tight end managed 847 receiving yards, with the next best being Demarcus Robinson on 458 yards.
Beckham Jr. hasn't put up stellar numbers since 2019. But if this move is the thing that gets Jackson to sign on that dotted line? He - and Lamar - can put up big numbers together.
