Ravens Reveal: 'We're Better Under Pressure!' Claims QB Lamar Jackson
The Baltimore Ravens have every season-long reason to feel confident about where they sit atop the AFC standings ... and following their 33-19 win at the San Francisco 49ers on "Monday Night Football'' - a supposed "pressure-cooker'' of a game that has some in the locker room bothered because they were underdogs?
They have every reason to feel freshly confident, too.
And that is the way team leader Lamar Jackson is talking about his guys, who are not only handling "pressure'' but better, are embracing it.
“I believe we play better under pressure,” said Jackson as the 12-3 Ravens prep for a visit from fellow top contender Miami. “We keep our poise. We stay locked in no matter how the game may seem.''
"How the game may seem,'' meaning in a sense, the high quality of the foe. Baltimore is now 3-0 against division-leading teams, and the wins over the Lions, the Jaguars and the 49ers have all been blowout successes.
Do it again on Sunday - by any score - and it will mean a sixth straight victory and it will clinch the No. 1 seed and a playoff bye.
Lamar vs. Josh MVP Debate: Angry Host Walks Off Set
The Ravens aren't perfect; there are three losses on the ledger. But if we believe in peaking at the right moment and if we believe that confidence is an edge when the pressure is on?
Baltimore has that. ... maybe in a way no other team does.
"I don't think anybody plays like us. We just need to keep playing that way [and] keep playing 'The Raven Way."
