Undefeated Ravens Top AFC North; Can Baltimore Hold the Lead?
The Baltimore Ravens currently hold sole possession of first place in the AFC North after the Cleveland Browns lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. … and lost Nick Chubb to an ugly season-ending knee injury.
Monday Night Football in Week 2 saw the Browns lose to the Steelers by a score of 26-22 after T.J. Watt recovered a Deshaun Watson fumble and returned it for a touchdown. On Sunday afternoon, the Ravens defeated the Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 27-24, moving themselves to 2-0 and the Bengals to 0-2.
Cincinnati came into the season as the favorites to win the division, with Baltimore behind it. Cleveland had the third best odds and Pittsburgh had the worst odds, being led by second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett.
The Ravens have won six AFC North division titles since 2002, while the Bengals have matched that number with six themselves. The Steelers have won the most since 2002 with nine and the Browns have won the least with zero.
So far, with star Joe Burrow not looking like himself to begin the regular season, Baltimore's MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson appears to be the clear No. 1 quarterback in the AFC North.
The next two divisional games will for Baltimore will be Oct. 1 at Cleveland and Oct. 8 at Pittsburgh. All four AFC North teams have already played one divisional game so far this season.
The Ravens will try to keep their momentum going heading into those two AFC North games when they host the Indianapolis Colts at M&T Bank Stadium on Sept. 25 at 1 p.m.
