WATCH: Ravens Take Lead After Interception Bonanza
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is seeing ghosts in the first half against the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Day.
After throwing an interception in the end zone on the 49ers first drive of the game to Kyle Hamilton, Purdy was able to lead his team on a drive to score a field goal, before throwing yet another interception on their third offensive drive.
Cornerback Brandon Stephens made an incredibly athletic play to jump up and bat the ball into the air on a screen pass and the ball was then caught by Marlon Humphrey for the interception. Humphrey was then brought down by Purdy near midfield.
The interception gave the Ravens' offense a short field to work with, and work they did. Lamar Jackson led an 11-play, 53-yard drive that ended in a 1-yard touchdown run from Gus Edwards on fourth-and-goal.
Purdy would then go on to throw yet another interception on the next drive. This time, it was deflected by Humphrey and Hamilton came down with his second interception of the first half.
For Edwards, it was his 12th rushing touchdown of the season, far and away a career high for the 28-year-old running back. He is currently fifth in the NFL in rushing touchdowns behind Raheem Mostert, Jalen Hurts, Christian McCaffrey and Josh Allen.
Heading Into Matchup With 49ers, Ravens' Path To AFC's No. 1 Seed Is Clear
Baltimore and San Francisco came into the game as the two top defenses in the NFL in multiple categories, as well as being tied for the best record in football at 11-3.
