Deion Sanders Searching For Former Saints Player, Falcons Teammate
The University of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is searching for former New Orleans Saints defensive end and tackle Jumpy Geathers. Following his six seasons in New Orleans (1984-89) and three with Washington, Sanders, and Geathers became teammates in Atlanta before ending his playing days in Denver.
"Can y'all find Jumpy Geathers for me, please? I love him & miss him. He was 1 of my fishing buddies when I played for the @AtlantaFalcons and he was a DOGG. Jumpy was a good brother, and we lost contact. Thank y'all and God bless y'all," Sanders posted on social media.
Geathers, 63, was a teammate of the famed Dome Patrol linebackers of Rickey Jackson, Sam Mills, Pat Swilling, and Vaughan Johnson.
The 6-7 and 290-pound defender recorded 26 sacks, 129 tackles, and nine fumble recoveries in 80 game appearances (23 starts) with the Saints. He ended his NFL career with 62 sacks, 273 tackles, five forced fumbles, and nine fumble recoveries in 183 game appearances.
The ex-Saints defender has been off the radar for quite some time. Hopefully, Coach Prime can locate Geathers. Last week, Sanders had surgery to repair blood clots in his leg threatening his foot's blood flow, causing numbness.
Jumpy Geathers is a native of Georgetown, South Carolina.
