Derek Carr to Meet With Saints at NFL Combine
The Derek Carr tour will continue this week in Indianapolis at the NFL Scouting Combine. According to a Tuesday morning report by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Carr will meet with the Saints, Jets, and Panthers.
It was just a week ago that we heard that Carr would be doing his due diligence, and that selecting his new team would be a 'long process'. Carolina is a new team to the table in this mix, but it's not totally surprising after new head coach Frank Reich's comments about not being ready to discuss him the other week.
New Orleans, as well as all teams, will have their top guys in Indianapolis this week. Perhaps another good meeting with Dennis Allen and Mickey Loomis will go a long way in landing Carr, and the Saints might have to step up their game if he's their top target.
Carr is free to sign with any team right now, as he doesn't have to wait until the start of the new league year on March 15. He's reportedly seeking over $35 million yearly on his next contract.
