Giants vs. Saints Pregame Report - Week 15

In this story:

The Saints (6-7) wrap up a three-game home stand when they host the Giants (5-8) on Sunday. New Orleans is desperately trying to keep pace in the conference and NFC South and build upon their win last Sunday, but Tommy DeVito has led his team from the bottom of the barrel to being a borderline contender in the playoff race. Here's all you need to know about this matchup ahead of kickoff.

WILL CHRIS OLAVE PLAY?

Chris Olave (ankle) is a game time decision. He didn't practice all week, but did get in some work without being at the facility similar to the prior week dealing with the concussion. Being without him would be a real big blow to the offensive attack, and things don't exactly sound optimistic right now.

New Orleans is getting back two big weapons in Rashid Shaheed and Taysom Hill, but not having Olave would certainly hurt. Marquez Callaway was once again called up from the practice squad, but we'd expect this to be a more run-centered attack against one of the league's worst run defenses.

THE RYAN RAMCZYK PLAN

Ryan Ramczyk is not expected to play on Sunday with his knee injury, which would be a big blow to the offensive line. We'd expect Landon Young to start in his place, but veteran Cameron Erving was also called up from the practice squad on Saturday. Perhaps facing the short week it might pay off to sit Ramczyk, but we'll see what things look like when the team plays the Rams. The offensive line will just have to get by without him.

SOLVING FOR TOMMY DEVITO

Tommy DeVito has been playing smart football and is a huge reason why the Giants have won three straight. He gets back a major weapon in Darren Waller too, as the Saints have had their fair share of struggles against tight ends. DeVito is taking care of the football, a nuisance when he runs the football, and is hard to bring down. New Orleans had a better start and showing last week defensively, but that was also the lowly Panthers, so Sunday will be a true litmus test to see where they're at.
