Michael Thomas, Marshon Lattimore Injury Updates

Dennis Allen shares an injury update on Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas and cornerback Marshon Lattimore.
In this story:

The Saints are back from their bye week, hoping that their time away from football leads to a refocused and reenergized approach going into the team's final seven games. That might prove to be a bit more challenging after Dennis Allen said on Monday that Michael Thomas and Marshon Lattimore have 'injuries that are going to take some time'.

Thomas got hurt on the first Saints offensive play against the Vikings after taking a hit on a pass play from Derek Carr. He made a catch on the very next play and then towards the end of the drive went into the injury tent where he stayed for several minutes. Eventually, Thomas rejoined the team on the sideline and sported a ball cap. Allen said afterwards that he was held out for precautionary reasons.

Allen revealed on the Monday following the game that Thomas and Marshon Lattimore had fairly significant injuries that weren't season ending, but the team was going through second opinions. Lattimore got hurt after getting rolled up and is reportedly dealing with a high-ankle sprain. Derek Carr is still in the concussion protocol.

New Orleans travels to Atlanta to take on the Falcons on Sunday, with a lot being at stake in the NFC South. Should the Falcons win, they'll be in a comfortable driver's seat for the division, but a win for the Saints will help them start back on the right path.
