Back to the indoor facility go the New Orleans Saints. With the heat index expected to near 105 degrees Fahrenheit on Tuesday, the change is a welcome one for sure. Going into the second day of pads, expecting more comfort for the players seems accurate. So a young rookie, star defender and young, talented pass-rusher have a chance to show out in Day 6.

OL Nick Saldiveri

With guard Trai Turner's season over and Andrus Peat managing a calf strain, more opportunities for Saldiveri may present themselves on Tuesday. The rookie still has a few players ahead of him like James Hurst and Calvin Throckmorton, so he will have to make the most of the reps he gets. He has flashed some good moments, but stringing those moments together more consistently is a must.

Usually veterans start out hot in camp and as the rookies and younger players become more comfortable, the gap begins to close. Saldiveri could benefit from that rhythm here in the second week of camp.

CB Marshon Lattimore

The Saints’ starting corner catches your eye each and every day whether being watched or not. The stamp of an elite player. Lattimore has been outstanding all camp with several pass break ups and tremendous coverage. He and wide receiver Michael Thomas have had some battles early and Lattimore is leading the way. But Thomas is the ultimate competitor so expect him to clap back quickly. The two will be keenly in focus today, but Lattimore in particular has been the standard-bearer of camp.

DE Carl Granderson

Last week, the fifth-year defensive end detailed how players like him go from good to great. Now, he gets to put it all in practice. Literally. He and fellow edge defenders Payton Turner and Tanoh Kpassagnon have been putting in a show throughout camp so far, but soon one will need to begin to separate from the pack.

The spot opposite starter Cameron Jordan is open, and the competition has been one of the highlights of camp so far. Saints head coach Dennis Allen highlighted this battle shortly after camp opened and because of the high-level of production from the players, it has not disappointed.
