Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals Preview: NFC West Week 7 Battle

Coming off a loss to the Cincinnatti Bengals, the Seattle Seahawks will look to get back in the win column versus the Arizona Cardinals.
In this story:

Following their 17-13 loss to the Cincinnatti Bengals last Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks will look to refind their winning ways as they host their NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals inside Lumen Field on Sunday.

Both teams are coming off losses, and the Seahawks will want to make sure they don't fall too .500. The Cardinals are seemingly fighting for their season with a 1-5 record while currently being on a three-game losing streak. The latest of the three losses came via the Los Angeles Rams, who delivered a 26-9 beatdown inside SoFi Stadium in Week 6.

So far, aside from their Week 3 win over the Dallas Cowboys, the season has unfolded as many would've expected for the Cardinals. While quarterback Joshua Dobbs has had his moments as the starter in place of the injured Kyler Murray, who is 10 months out from his torn ACL, he led an offense that struggled to get points on the board versus the Rams.

The Cardinals managed to gain 345 total yards against the Rams, which was just 37 fewer than L.A. had. However, Arizona was derailed by two turnovers, which doesn't include the two turnovers on downs and being forced to settle for field goals deep in the redzone.

The Seahawks, on the other hand, just had a three-game winning streak broken on th road last Sunday at the hands of the Bengals in a game that could be best described as uncharacteristic.

Not only were the Seahawks held to just one touchdown versus the Bengals, but quarterback Geno Smith, who had been rather efficient with the football in his hands, threw two costly interceptions to add to an offensive performance where they struggled to capitalize in the redzone with points, just like the Cardinals.

However, while the records may not necessarily reflect it, the Seahawks and Cardinals are polar opposites. The Cardinals seem to be heading into a rebuild just six games into a season where they haven't had their starting quarterback. In contrast, the Seahawks, despite two disappointing losses, are still in the fight for the division and are just a game behind the San Francisco 49ers.
