Seattle Seahawks Entering 'Playoff Mode' vs. Philadelphia Eagles, Says DK Metcalf
The Seattle Seahawks playoff hopes are on life support. Sitting at 6-7 and on the outside looking in at the postseason, the Seahawks know that it's go time.
Currently the ninth seed in the NFC playoff picture behind the Los Angeles Rams, who have beaten Seattle twice (own tie-breaker), it looks like a tall order for coach Pete Carroll's team to make it back to the postseason.
Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf said that the team has been in playoff mode since the Week 11 game against the Rams.
“I think ever since we started playing the Rams it’s been like that playoff mode because teams start to hone into who they are, find their identity," Metcalf said. "The past four or five games we’ve played have been championship, playoff contender-type teams, I think every week from here on out is going to be that type of vibe.”
The Seahawks face the Philadelphia Eagles, the Tennessee Titans, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Arizona Cardinals, so there are winnable games for Seattle.
But, given how things have gone in the division, the Seahawks would need to have the Rams stutter down the stretch, and in truth, Seattle might need to win out to have a sniff of a playoff spot.
Seattle has another chance to showcase this "playoff mode" on Monday night against the Eagles, who themselves are reeling after back-to-back blowout losses.

Quarterback Geno Smith is not entirely sure he will be suiting up on Monday night, but did say that he is "always going to push to play." The Seahawks' chances against Philadelphia might hinge on whether Smith takes his place or not.
The playoffs are still a month away, but for Metcalf and the Seahawks, it has come early. If they plan on being a part of the postseason, they have to begin winning games again - starting with the defending NFC champions on Monday.
