Seahawks Reveal 2023 Offseason Program Dates
With free agency well underway and the 2023 NFL Draft coming up in late April, the NFL announced offseason program dates for the Seattle Seahawks and all 32 teams.
Per the schedule released by the league on Friday, Seattle will open Phase One of its offseason program on April 17. At this time, no on-field work will be allowed and activities will be limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.
After two weeks in the initial phase of the program, the Seahawks will then transition into Phase Two, which allows teams to conduct individual or group instruction drills as well as run plays and drills at a walk-through pace with offensive players across from offensive players or defensive players across from defensive players. No live-contact or team offense versus team defense drills will be permitted during this three-week phase.
Finally, Seattle will open Phase Three on May 22 with the start of Organized Team Activities, which grants teams permission to do 7-on-7, 9-on-9, and 11-on-11 team drills without live contact. Each team is allowed up to 10 OTA sessions and one three-day mandatory minicamp.
Interestingly, for the second straight offseason, the Seahawks will hold their mandatory minicamp in the middle of OTAs from June 6-8. The team will conduct three OTA sessions afterward from June 12-14 and if the program operates like last year, those three days will primarily be utilized for conditioning purposes.
In addition, all 32 teams will be allowed to hold a seven-week rookie development program and a three-day rookie minicamp in the first two weekends after the draft. Dates for Seattle's annual rookie minicamp has yet to be announced and will be released at a later time.
