Seahawks Hiring Coach Mike Vrabel 'Match Made in Heaven!' Says Peter King

The Seattle Seahawks are on a head coaching hunt, and NBC's Peter King thinks Mike Vrabel is the ideal choice to lead the NFC West franchise.

The Seattle Seahawks head coaching search is well underway with Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn looming as the favorite to succeed Pete Carroll.

With so many choices for general manager John Schneider to sift through, exactly which way the franchise will go is a mystery at this point.

But not for NBC's Peter King.

King thinks that out of all the head coaching candidates available, one stands out above them all for Seattle - Mike Vrabel.

“There is not a more perfect match in this coaching season than Mike Vrabel and John Schneider with the Seattle Seahawks," King said on NFL on NBC. "Look, Pete Carroll, fantastic for that organization but in my opinion I think that one of the things that probably a lot of guys in that team in that organization, they just started rolling their eyes at the end about Pete Carroll and the cheerleader stuff.

“I don't think you're going to roll your eyes at Mike Vrabel because he's one of those guys from the Belichick school, you do it my way or it's the highway. John Schneider has proven over time that he can bring in the players, that he can go find a quarterback with the 75th pick. I love Mike Vrabel in Seattle and I think that would be a match made in heaven for the Seahawks.”

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel stands on the sideline during the second quarter against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.

Having taken the Tennessee Titans to back-to-back playoff appearances in 2020 and 2021, as he won the AFC South twice, Vrabel has the pedigree to come in and take the Seahawks forward.

With the caliber of head coaching candidates at a high level, the thought was once Vrabel was given his marching orders, it wouldn't be long before he was snapped up.

But alas, he is still waiting after having interviews with the Los Angeles Chargers and the Atlanta Falcons.

However, Seattle has yet to interview Vrabel despite there being reported interest. While Quinn might be the odds on choice, Scheinder and Co. at least need to look his way.

Whether they will or not is unknown given their want for Quinn, but King thinks the two could be made for each other. It is just up to Seattle to make the first move.
