Seahawks general manager John Schneider met with the media on Tuesday and said that candidates like Johnson that are still coaching in the postseason will still be included in Seattle's process but that there's "rules we need to abide by" as the team look to fill the void left by Pete Carroll. Johnson and the Lions will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round on Sunday.

This season under coach Dan Campbell, Johnson has helped lead a revitalized Detroit offense that's become one of the best in the league thanks to his scheme and the abundance of talent on that side of the ball.

Led by quarterback Jared Goff, the Lions offense features a dynamic pair of running backs in Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery along with All-Pro receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, standout rookie tight end Sam LaPorta and an imposing offensive line. Detroit averaged the third-most offensive yards per game (394.8) during the regular season.

Should he come to Seattle, Johnson would have a similarly-talented group of players on offense that failed to live up to expectations this season.
