BREAKING: Seahawks Select UCLA RB Zach Charbonnet With No. 52 Pick
After selecting defensive end Derick Hall out of Auburn at No. 37 overall, the Seattle Seahawks used their other second-round pick on offense as they are taking UCLA running back Zach Charbonnet at No. 52.
Running back may not have been a glaring need for the Seahawks entering the draft with Kenneth Walker III bursting onto the scene as a rookie, but now they have a dynamic duo out of the backfield.
"Power rusher who can break tackles and drive piles but lacks athleticism to be a dynamic playmaker," SI Draft Bible wrote on Charbonnet.
Charbonnet is the second offensive pick for the Seahawks in the draft, having drafted Ohio State receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba with the No. 20 overall pick. Adding Charbonnet to an offense already featuring DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Walker and Smith-Njigba will make life that much easier for quarterback Geno Smith.
It has been a productive draft so far for the Seahawks as they've landed high-value players with their first four selections. As they enter the later rounds they will look to continue adding key depth pieces to a roster that is poised to be a playoff contender once again.
The Seahawks are on the clock again with the No. 83 pick in the third round.
