Is there pressure on the Seattle Seahawks to deliver in the upcoming NFL Draft

A recent article from CBS Sports says so, but why?

"When you possess the kind of draft capital Seattle does, you can't let it go to waste," CBS wrote.

As CBS points out, it is a very different kind of pressure from other teams on the list, like the Carolina Panthers, who are looking to start off a rebuild, or even the Green Bay Packers, who want to avoid one.

But the Seahawks are being presented with a rare opportunity - something head coach Pete Carroll acknowledges - where they got into the playoffs a season ago, despite many expecting them to have a tough season heading into a rebuild. They also have two first-round picks, one inside the top-five, along with eight other selections.

In many ways, this is an extension of last season, where Seattle can fly under the radar as a team that is building toward contending for the Lombardi Trophy.

CBS goes as far as to even put forward an argument that the Seahawks had the best draft class a year ago.

"They found a Pro Bowl cornerback, two starting offensive tackles and what appears to be a star running back as well," CBS wrote. They then asked what would happen if general manager John Schneider can do it again.

Well, it would undoubtedly mean that Seattle's future would be looking a lot brighter than many thought after trading away franchise quarterback Russell Wilson last offseason.

Filling holes on a roster that brought back its significant players from last season, including quarterback Geno Smith, both elite receivers in D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, running back Kenneth Walker III, and safety Quandre Diggs, would cap off a strong offseason that could set Seattle up for contention.
