Seahawks TE Noah Fant Reveals Comeback Plans
Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant is making all the right moves as his comeback from offseason knee surgery continues.
After initially being on the sidelines, Fant is now ramping up his workload in his bid to play in Seattle's season opener against the Los Angeles Rams.
But how is he feeling as Seattle gears up to face the Dallas Cowboys in Game 2 of their preseason schedule?
“I’m still getting there to be honest,” Fant said. “It’s a process, I try and use up every single day until that first game [Week 1]. Try and be as clean as possible, its still a process, I’m not there yet, still working and getting there.”
Fant has been a slow burn this offseason as the lingering effects of his knee injury saw him sidelined to begin the offseason.
But as he gets his feet underneath him again and gets into the rhythm of running routes and physically getting back to his best, could we see him play a series to two vs. the Cowboys on Saturday night?
“I’ll leave that up to the coaches,” Fant said. “I’m never going to turn down playing, my main focus is being ready for week one when we face the Rams and going from there.”
Taking the slow approach with Fant is likely the best move, especially with the other options available at the tight end position. Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson were bit-part players last season, so the remaining two games could allow the Seattle coaching staff to get another look at the pair.
Fant is on the comeback trail. He's knocking off the rust and has the ambition to be lining up against the Rams in a few weeks, but as he stated, it's a process and he is still in the process of getting back to the best version of himself.
