Seahawks WR Tyjon Lindsey Has 'Sparked' Seattle: Roster Spot Next?
In the Seattle Seahawks' first two preseason games, they had their initial look at the unproven players on the roster, and certain individuals have begun to make their presence felt.
One of those players is undrafted receiver Tyjon Lindsey, who made a strong impact during Saturday night's 22-14 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. He caught three passes for 36 yards and executed an impressive 27-yard punt return in the third quarter.
During his media availability on Tuesday, when asked about Lindsey, coach Pete Carroll praised the undrafted receiver for his performance during Saturday night's game.
"He had a good game. He had a really good game. He looks really good. Punt return was great, and he had a couple of key catches," Carroll said.
Additionally, Carroll praised the Oregon State product for the level of consistency that he has displayed during training camp, as he is currently in a battle to secure his position on the team.
"He's been really consistent out here," Carroll said. "He's done a nice job, very competitive kid. He's got to continue to work at the return stuff, which he's sparked us at. He's doing well, he's really battling."
Seattle's final preseason matchup at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 24 will carry significant weight for the undrafted receiver. It will offer him the last chance to prove his worth for a spot on the Seahawks' 53-man roster by sustaining the level of play he showcased in the team's win on Saturday night.
