Seahawks' Tyler Lockett Reveals How Jake Bobo is Already 'A Vet'
One of the most fascinating storylines of the Seattle Seahawks' offseason was the meteoric rise of rookie receiver Jake Bobo. The undrafted free agent took everything in his stride since Day 1 of OTAs and was rewarded with a spot on the 53-man roster.
But the hard work is just beginning ahead of Sunday's season opener at Lumen Field against the Los Angeles Rams.
Bobo Mania has gripped the Seahawks fanbase, and fellow receiver Tyler Lockett has marveled at the way the rookie has conducted himself since entering the building.
“Whatever he does, works,” Lockett said. “It’s been amazing to be able to see, and out of all the rookies that I’ve seen, he’s probably number one or number two, but I’d probably say number one at, thinking he was a vet. The way that he approaches the game, dude is literally one of the last ones to leave.
"It’s everything that he does is getting himself right. He’s in the weight room, in treatment room. You wouldn’t think that somebody who just got out of college, coming to the NFL, would do nearly all the things that he’s been doing just to be able to prepare himself to make the team, and now to be able to play for us on Sundays.”
Bobo had a superb preseason campaign, stacking good days and then producing on the field during Seattle's exhibition games.
He adds another weapon to a Seahawks offense that was already brimming with talent. D.K. Metcalf, Lockett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Kenneth Walker, Zach Charbonnet and now Bobo all give quarterback Geno Smith options in the pass and run game.

For many, the embarrassment of riches at offensive coordinator Shane Waldron's disposal have Seattle in the upper echelon of teams in the NFC.
But for Lockett, despite the outside noise, the team isn't taking anyone or anything lightly.
“For me, when it comes to expectations for the team, I just think the biggest thing is take it one day at a time,” Lockett said. “Not overlooking anybody, not thinking we’re better than anybody, but being able to go out there and earn our own respect.
“I think that sometimes you go out there and you might think teams are going to lay down, but at the end of the day, regardless of if a team lays down, if a team is trying to being that championship-type of performance, I want us to be the last one standing. In order for us to be able to do that, we got to be able to take every day seriously.”
The Seahawks kick off their season against Rams in a game many expect them to win, especially with the absence of star receiver Cooper Kupp.
But if Lockett's words are anything to go by, the Seahawks will have their foot on the gas as they look to get the season off to a winning start.
