Seahawks Miss Pair of FGs, Trail Lions at Halftime

The Seattle Seahawks offense has not gotten off to a good start this season, and has seen their struggles carry over from Week 1 to Week 2 against the Lions

Hitting the road for the first time this season, the Seattle Seahawks hopped on over to Detroit to take on a hot Lions team on Sunday that is likely still flying high after their win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

But after one half, the Lions proved their momentum is carrying over after heading into halftime with a 14-7 lead over Seattle.

Without both of their starting tackles available, the Seahawks were able to drive down the field to open up the game to take an early 7-0 lead. Their first drive went 75 yards in 12 plays, and ended with Kenneth Walker III powering in the score for his first touchdown of the day.

Their lead didn't last long, as the Lions also went 75 yards down the field in seven plays and were able to score on a great pass from Jared Goff to Josh Reynolds.

Following the Lions touchdown, the Seahawks offense ended up having to punt and also ended up appearing to lose DK Metcalf who went down with a rib injury.

The Seahawk defense stepped up and stopped the Lions from converting on a fourth-down conversion attempt. However, after the offense got Jason Meyers in field goal range with a chance to retake the lead, the Seattle kicker missed his second kick in two weeks.

That miss proved to be costly, as the Lions were able to add to their lead. A pass interference penalty on Devon Witherspoon gave the Lions a first down, which they took advantage of the next play dusting off the flea-flicker for a 36-yard touchdown.

The Seahawks' offense again was stagnant, and ended up punting for a second time.

After forcing a Lions three-and-out, the Seahawks pushed the ball down field setting up a field goal attempt for Meyers from 56 yards out. Meyers again missed the kick, ending the half on a sour note.

Heading into the second half, the Seahawks are trailing, but had they made the two field goals could be down by just one.
