Ben Roethlisberger on How Steelers Should Replace Matt Canada

The former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has a name to replace Matt Canada.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive struggles came back pretty quickly in the team's Week 8 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and once again, the topic of conversation from the outside noise is about replacing offensive coordinator Matt Canada.

While the team doesn't appear to be looking to make a change, when they are, one former quarterback has a name for them to hire. During his latest episode of Footbahlin' with Ben Roethlisberger, Big Ben vouched for the Steelers to hire Byron Leftwich if they replace Canada this season.

"I think if the team was to move on from Matt, I would love to see Byron Leftwich come in here and be the OC," Roethlisberger said. "He was there. He played under Coach [Mike Tomlin]. He understands what it means to be a Steeler. I think he's a great OC."

Leftwich's name has been floating around Pittsburgh for some time. Since his departure from Tampa Bay, many have voiced their opinion that the Steelers should consider him as a replacement for Canada.

Then, it came out that, according to reports, he's been calling the Steelers in hopes of landing a consultant job within their offense. Pittsburgh hasn't been answering.

It's unknown if the Steelers' thoughts on an offensive coordinator change have altered in any way following the 20-10 loss to the Jaguars. If it has, Big Ben wants a former teammate to land the job.
