Steelers' Chris Boswell Takes Shot at Refs
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't hold back after their Week 8 loss that the referees had a tough showing. Diontae Johnson, Mike Tomlin, Isaac Seumalu and others all addressed the poor calls throughout the game, and kicker Chris Boswell joined in later on social media.
Boswell addressed a controversial offsides call during a field goal that moved the Steelers out of range late in the first half. His approach was simple, taking a picture of the play that showed, not only were all Steelers linemen onsides, but that a Jacksonville player was actually over the line.
After the game, Tomlin said he's never seen a call like that before.
"I didn't get a lot of dialogue [with the officials]," Tomlin said. "I hadn't seen that called in 17 years of standing on the sidelines. Offsides, aligned offsides, on a guard on a field goal protection. It didn't matter what they said. I hadn't seen that."
The call exploded on social media, with everyone pointing out how blatantly off it was. That was the story of the game for the Steelers, though. And afterward, they didn't hold back on their criticisms of the refs.
