Steelers Rule Out CB for Jaguars Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be down a corner against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will have to face Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars without a starting defensive back.

Cornerback Levi Wallace headlined the Steelers' inactives list as they get set to host the Jacksonville Jaguars at Acrisure Stadium in Week 8.

Wallace had been dealing with a foot injury since playing the Rams last weekend. He didn't practice earlier in the week but returned as a limited participant and was healthy enough to be left off the final injury report before the Steelers took on the Jaguars.

Backup corner James Pierre is active after an ankle injury popped up late in the week, just a couple of days before kickoff. He did not participate in the final practice of the week and was not recovered enough in time to play against Jacksonville.

With some injuries in the defensive backfield, newly-signed corner Darius Rush will dress for the first time as a Steeler.

Quarterback Mason Rudolph, offensive lineman Dylan Cook and defensive lineman Breiden Fohoko were also made healthy scratches. Rudolph will still dress as the QB3, and could be activated if Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky are unable to play.
