Steelers Named Favorite to Land Panthers Star LB

The Pittsburgh Steelers could add another superstar via trade.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- Could the Pittsburgh Steelers really pull off a blockbuster trade that would add even more star power to their outside linebacker room? One sportsbook believes they're in the running for a Pro Bowl edge rusher.

While the Steelers are the favorites for Carolina Panthers defender Brian Burns, they're amongst the top odds to make a trade for the former first-round pick. At BetOnline.ag, Pittsburgh currently has the fourth-highest odds to land Burns, sitting at 7/1.

They trail the Baltimore Ravens (3/1), Chicago Bears (4/1) and Los Angeles Rams (6/1), and are tied with the Seattle Seahawks.

Burns, 25, is coming off his best season as a pro with 12.5 sacks, 17 tackles for loss and 22 quarterback hits. This year, he's already recorded four sacks, seven tackles for loss and nine QB hits.

Where Burns would fit in the Steelers defense is a giant question. Not only do they have T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith, who are both solidified starters and paid like they are, but Markus Golden and Nick Herbig have been quality contributors off the bench.

Much like the belief the Steelers could land DeAndre Hopkins, sometimes, there just isn't space on the roster for another superstar. That could be the case here.
