Bears Trade Former Steelers WR Chase Claypool
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool is headed south as the Chicago Bears traded him to the Miami Dolphins, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Claypool's time in Chicago comes to and end after just 11 games. The former second-round pick was traded by Pittsburgh at last year's deadline for the 32nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Steelers used the selection to draft Joey Porter Jr.
Claypool's time in Chicago had bumps from the beginning. After reports over the summer claimed the team was worried about his work ethic, he was called out for a poor performance by fans after Week 1. He was eventually made inactive by Chicago and asked to stay home from the team the last two weeks after claiming the Bears didn't use him properly.
It's unknown what Miami sent in return for the wide receiver, but TheScore's Jordan Schultz reported last week the team was asking for a fifth or sixth-round pick.
