Could Russell Wilson Bring Another Broncos Star to Steelers?

The Pittsburgh Steelers could add another superstar in free agency.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers landed Russell Wilson, bringing the former Denver Broncos quarterback in on a one-year deal. The move, for both sides, indicated they're dedicated to winning a Super Bowl. So, could Wilson try to bring over another superstar from his former team to help the cause?

The Broncos didn't just cut Wilson this offseason, but they also moved on from long-time safety Justin Simmons. The four-time All-Pro is coming off a three-interception season and is still viewed as one of the top defensive backs in the NFL, carrying 30 INTs into the 2024 season.

Wilson and Simmons were two of the biggest names in Denver during their two-year run together, and when Wilson saw the news of Simmons' release, sent a quick message on X (formerly known as Twitter) to his former teammate.

Wilson signing for a $1.2 million deal leaves the Steelers with plenty of room to make other moves. They currently sit somewhere in the neighborhood of $28 million in salary cap space, and Simmons' market value is estimated at $11.1 million per season over the next two years.

Simmons, alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick, may give the Steelers the best safety duo in the NFL, and with Wilson looking to win a Super Bowl - and his salary proving that - why not make the pitch to bolster Pittsburgh's defense with another Broncos superstar?
