PITTSBURGH — Former Dallas Cowboys running back and current free agent Ezekiel Elliott was spotted at Acrisure Stadium, for what is being reported as support for former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier.

Elliott had Steelers fans and media looking for clues after it was reported he was spotted in the city of Pittsburgh. He was the photographed at Shazier’s charity event, the Ryan Shazier Fund for Spinal Rehabilitation, hosted at Acrisure Stadium.

Elliott remains on the open market after being released by the Cowboys. At 27-years-old, the former first-round pick is looking for just his second NFL home, with 8,626 rushing yards and 68 touchdowns on his professional resume.

The Steelers likely aren’t looking for another big name at running back. With Najee Harris entering his third season and Jaylen Warren solidifying himself as the backup in year two, Pittsburgh is searching between Anthony McFarland, Master Teague and undrafted rookie  Alfonzo Graham for their final backfield spot.

As for why Elliott was supporting Shazier in Pittsburgh, the two were teammates at Ohio State before Shazier entered the league in 2014 and Elliott in 2016.
