Former Steelers Executive Leaves Panthers

Former Pittsburgh Steelers executive Samir Suleiman will be looking for a new job this offseason.

PITTSBURGH -- The Carolina Panthers are making some dramatic changes to their front office and coaching staff and a former Pittsburgh Steelers executive has been part of those changes.

Samir Suleiman, a former Steelers front office executive of eight years, is no longer with the Panthers after spending two seasons as Director of player negotiations and salary cap manager, according to ESPN's David Newton.

Suleiman had interviewed for the Panthers' open general manager job this offseason, according to All Panthers' Schuyler Callihan, but the team went in a different direction, opting to hire Dan Morgan instead.

Suleiman arrived in Carolina in 2020 after his long tenure with the Steelers, during which he served as the team's Football Administration Coordinator. He was promoted to vice president of football administration after two seasons with the Panthers.

As he appears to be looking for ways to climb up the ladder of NFL front office decision-making, the Steelers don't appear to have an opening for Suleiman to return to the franchise, which hasn't experienced significant turnover in its front office this offseason.
