Former Steelers QB Wins First NFL Game
PITTSBURGH -- Joshua Dobbs had an unordinary journey to become the starting quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals, but the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has them rocking, securing his first NFL win in the biggest upset of the week.
Dobbs and the Cardinals hosted the 2-0 Dallas Cowboys, who were favored by 12.5 points, and defeated them 28-16.
Dobbs was 0-4 coming into the game, losing two games last season with the Tennessee Titans and then starting the season 0-2 this year in Arizona. But after being defeated in a comeback victory the last two weeks, the Cardinals held strong to hand Dallas their first win.
Dobbs finished the game 17 of 21 for 189 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed six times for 55 yards.
Former Steelers running back James Connor also contributed in a major way to the win, rushing 14 times for 98 yards and a touchdown, and catching two passes for 18 yards.
Dobbs is only expected to start until Kyler Murray returns from an ACL injury midseason. That will continue to be a conversation that's up for debate amongst commentators if the Cardinals continue to win.
