George Pickens Explains 'Drama' With Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers wideout says there are no harsh feelings between him and the team.

PITTSBURGH -- In the hours and days following the Pittsburgh Steelers' dramatic, 20-14 win over the Tennessee Titans, star wide receiver George Pickens took some heat for posting "Free Me" on his Instagram story and deleting pictures of him in Steelers gear from his page.

Pickens later put some of the pictures back up and posted that none of his social media activity had anything to do with football. He reiterated that sentiment in person this week.

“I don’t really mix social media and football," Pickens said. “Just clearing out my page. Nothing really too crazy. It had nothing to do with the Steelers at all.”

Pickens went on to say that he is not upset or frustrated with the amount of targets or catches he's gotten recently - he's been targetted 10 times but caught just two passes for 21 yards and a touchdown over the past two games.

“Me personally, all I can do is just keep on working," Pickens said. "I can’t really express it anymore, I just got to keep working. That’s it.”

Cameras from the game broadcast panned to him with what looked like an unhappy disposition on the sideline after Diontae Johnson caught the-game winning touchdown against Tennessee but Pickens said he was just getting ready for the next series.

“I was just getting back to the sideline," Pickens said. "His touchdown engineered the victory, so I don’t know how I could be mad at that.”
