Kenny Pickett Says Super Bowl or Bust for Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers only want one thing this season.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers begin their 2023 campaign against the San Francisco 49ers, and after an offseason full of hype, the team themselves are all in on the season ahead.

Many in the media and the fanbase believe the Steelers could make a magical run this season, but they're not the only ones who believe it. The team has their sights on a Lombardi, and after wide receiver Diontae Johnson called Super Bowl for the Steelers, quarterback Kenny Pickett followed, saying this season is championship or bust in Pittsburgh.

"Championship or bust," Pickett said in a 1-on-1 with NFL Media. "The way I was raised, at Pitt and my high school days, it’s always to win championships. Only reason why you play the game, right, [is] to get some jewelry at the end of the season. It feels good to have confetti raining down on you. I had it once in college for a conference championship so I couldn’t imagine the feeling of a Super Bowl championship, so that’s definitely always the goal."

The Steelers currently sit with +5000 odds at SI Sportsbook to win the Super Bowl this season. But with a rebuilt offensive line, some impressive wide receivers, a second-year leap for Pickett, George Pickens, Jaylen Warren and many others, and a loaded defense (on paper), Pittsburgh feels pretty good about where they stand in 2023.

It's hard to imagine the rest of the locker room doesn't believe it's Super Bowl or bust this year, as well.
