Vikings Bench Former Steelers QB Josh Dobbs
PITTSBURGH -- The Minnesota Vikings are going in a different direction at quarterback as Nick Mullens is set to start in Week 15, replacing former Pittsburgh Steelers passer Josh Dobbs, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.
Dobbs was traded to the Vikings at the deadline. He entered a game just days later as the team's backup, but after an injury to rookie Jaren Hall, Dobbs stepped in and led Minnesota to a win. He started the following four games, going 2-2 in that span.
The Vikings' offense started to struggle in the last two weeks, with Dobbs throwing four interceptions in Week 13 against the Chicago Bears and then Minnesota scoring just three points in their 3-0 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Dobbs started the season with the Arizona Cardinals, going 1-7 as their starter. This season, he's thrown for 2,464 yards and 13 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. He's also rushed for 421 yards and six touchdowns.
