New Details Emerge of Steelers QB Dwayne Haskins’ Death
PITTSBURGH -- More details have emerged from the lawsuit involving the death of former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who was allegedly drugged and extorted before his tragic death in 2022.
Haskins was killed in Florida while training with fellow teammates. He was struck by a dump truck while attempting to cross an interstate after reports claimed his vehicle ran out of gas entering the highway.
According to a lawsuit filed about the incident, allegations claim that Haskins was drugged and robbed by a group that contained one man and three women.
It also accuses the dump truck of speeding, operating carelessly, and violating weight limit regulations. It also claims the rental truck driven by Haskins had a defect that led to it running out of gas.
Furthermore, the lawsuit accuses the state of neglecting to implement lower speed limit signs in a construction zone, which may have led to the fatal crash.
According to ESPN, the family of Haskins has agreed to "partial settlements" with the driver, the owner, and the broker of the dump truck.
