Steelers Advised to Trade George Pickens

The Pittsburgh Steelers are being urged to move on from George Pickens.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are dealing with culture issues within the locker room, and wide receiver George Pickens has been the face of those concerns for most of the season.

Now, with head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledging, "We've got dealing with adversity issues and sometimes those can be characterized as maturity issues, certainly," it feels like the door for change has officially swung wide open.

With many believing it's time for some moves that alter the locker room, Pickens is named the top trade candidate. And two national analysts believe it's time for Pittsburgh to move on.

NBC Sports' Charles Robinson and Michael Smith have urged the Steelers to make a move this offseason, removing the wideout from the locker room.

"We have to figure out what’s going on with George Pickens," Robinson said. "I would assess whether he should be in the organization for another year. Given what’s going on with him, I would consider trading him."

"Behind the scenes, I think you’ve heard the same things I’ve heard. Dude’s a problem," Smith added.

The Steelers used a second-round pick for Pickens in 2022, but with the wide receiver market growing, they could likely get a decent return if they did decide to trade him. With growing issues and lack of success, it feels more and more like there will be some overhaul in the offseason.

Pickens's name could certainly be one to watch.
