Steelers Get Bad News on Cole Holcomb Injury
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will move forward without inside linebacker Cole Holcomb after suffering a significant knee injury in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans. According to NFL Network's Tom Peliserro, Holcomb will undergo surgery, ending his 2023 season.
Holcomb emerged as the team's top inside linebacker this season after signing a three-year deal in the offseason. Heading into the week, he recorded 54 tackles and two forced fumbles.
According to Peliserro, Holcomb stayed overnight at a local hospital as a precaution following the injury. He was released the day after the game and is expected to make a full recovery after surgery.
The Steelers will operate with Kwon Alexander and Elandon Roberts as their starting inside linebackers moving forward. Both have been introduced as starters throughout the season. Mark Robinson is available off the bench, but Pittsburgh will likely look to add another player at the position.
