Report: Steelers' Brian Flores in Final Two for Vikings DC Job

The Pittsburgh Steelers could be close to losing Brian Flores.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers could be losing senior defensive coordinator Brian Flores. According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the Minnesota Vikings are down to two candidates for the defensive coordinator position, and Flores is on their list.

Breer states Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero is their top candidate for the job but has not been granted permission to interview with Minnesota. If they cannot land the Denver DC, Flores would be their top choice.

Flores has been on the list for a number of teams, including the Broncos for a defensive coordinator position. He's also interviewed, and been considered a strong candidate, for head coaching gigs like the Arizona Cardinals.

With Flores on the staff, the Steelers' defense went from dead last in run defense to ninth in 2022. However, the former Miami Dolphins head coach has never held a defensive coordinator position.
