Steelers DB Damontae Kazee Ejected After Violent Hit

The Pittsburgh Steelers safety was ejected immediately after the hit.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee has been ejected from the team's Week 15 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts for an unnecessary roughness call on a hit to Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.

Kazee raced toward Pittman as a pass from Gardner Minshew was coming in. In the collision, Kazee lowered his shoulder and dove directly at Pittman which led to a violent collision in the air.

Immediately, flags came flying in as Pittman remained on the ground. Refs did not review the play and instead immediately ejected Kazee from the ballgame. Moments later, Pittman was able to walk off under his own power and head to the locker room to be evaluated for a head injury.

Without Kazee, the Steelers will be down to Trenton Thompson and Miles Killebrew alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick at safety.
