Steelers' Diontae Johnson Sends Cryptic Message

The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver seems to have heard the rumors.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly open to trading wide receiver Diontae Johnson this offseason, and once the news broke of the report, the veteran sent his thoughts via X (formerly known as Twitter).

Johnson sent a series of tweets that read, "People just be talkin," "Let that old [emoji] stay in the past," and "It is what it is." All were likely directed toward the rumors he would be sent out of Pittsburgh before the start of the season.

The report claims Johnson is not on the trade block but that the Steelers would consider moving him for the right price. The 27-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and the Steelers have spent a lot of time during the NFL Combine meeting with top rookie wideouts.

It's not guaranteed Johnson is on the move this offseason, but it does become more realistic if the Steelers have a wide receiver on their minds early in the NFL Draft. Chances are, a move wouldn't get done until the draft as Pittsburgh isn't looking to take a step backward in their wide receiver room.
