Report: Steelers Open to Diontae Johnson Trade

The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't turning down bidders for Diontae Johnson.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are open to a trade with wide receiver Diontae Johnson if the price is enough, according to NFL insider Tony Pauline.

Johnson is set to enter the final year of his contract and will make $15.83 million this season. Last year, he recorded 51 catches for 717 yards and five touchdowns but has yet to surpass the 1,000-yard mark since signing his second deal.

Pauline says Johnson is not on the trading block, but the team won't turn down bidders this offseason.

"While it’s not fair to say Johnson is on the trading block, several people tell me the Steelers are open to moving the receiver if they receive fair compensation," Pauline writes.

The Steelers met with several of the top wide receiver options at the NFL Combine and have been named a candidate to trade up for Washington star Rome Odunze. If they are to select another wide receiver, they may be more comfortable moving on from Johnson before the season.

What his trade return is worth is still up in the air, but it should be expected that the Steelers could get a Day 2 draft pick for their 27-year-old receiver.
