Steelers WR George Pickens Kept Receipts of Haters

The Pittsburgh Steelers wideout heard all the noise surrounding him this week.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens had a tough week after NFL analysts, shot hosts, fans and members of the media criticized his effort in Week 15 against the Indianapolis Colts. But following a career-best game against the Bengals, the second-year pro said he'll remember those who bashed him.

Pickens was the focal point of the Steelers locker room throughout the week after admitting he chose not to block on a potential touchdown run the week before to avoid injury.

Well, after his four-catch, 195-yard and two-touchdown performance against Cincinnati, his critics had limited ammo. Pickens acknowledged he did upset some people the week prior, but said he's always here to win as part of the team.

"I made some comments before the week that kind of ticked you guys off," Pickens said. "But I wanna say I’m just here to win, make the proper adjustments and be a great player."

He won't forget what was said, though. The Steelers' young star said he made sure to keep track of those who were talking during a long week of drama.

"I’d probably just say, I kept receipts for sure," Pickens said. "But you know, guys and people, they just got a job to do. That’s probably the biggest thing I took out of it."

The Steelers move to 8-7 on the season with a growing chance to climb back into the playoffs. They'll need more games like this one out of Pickens to give themselves the best opportunity to make the postseason.
